Trichoderma: Methods and Protocols

This is a “how to” book in a protocol format that will come in handy for both beginners and advanced level researchers working with the fungus. This book covers basic techniques applied in isolation and identification / taxonomy, microscopy, ecological aspects, interactions with plants, fungi and animals, genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics, and how to exploit these fungi for various biotechnological applications like formulations as biopesticides and use as cell factories for biofuel production. Each chapter starts with a small review of the relevant theory, followed by laboratory protocols that will also contain an outline of Trichoderma-specific demands, supplemented by web links, graphics and sample data. The book is divided into 4 sections covering taxonomy, ecophysiology, the ‘-omics’ protocol and finally dealing with biotechnological applications. This book complements the earlier Trichoderma book (Mukherjee et al., August 2013) that covered “what” and this one will cover the “how to” of Trichoderma. These two volumes would be a complete treatise on modern Trichoderma research
