Integrating Biomedical Information : From eCell to ePatient

The first years of the third Millennium have been years of revolution. Unlike previous revolutions, this one has not been limited to a specific country or region. It is a global revolution - the Information Revolution. Each and every citizen in the developed world is a potential information consumer. We produce information, we consume information, we trade information and, more and more, we use tools that help us collect more and more data which we process in order to obtain even more information. The value of this information is not measured by the cost of collecting and processing it, but rather by the value of its applications. In other words, the ever-growing use of the information is the basis for this revolution. "Integrating Biomedical Information: From e-Cell to e-Patient" deals with the broad spectrum of Medical Informatics. Both concepts in the title are new - the result of data collection, data processing and information analysis.
